ALSO, BECOME A PART OF HISTORY: TESTIFY AT NCI - AS EXPERT OR NON-EXPERT
Happy New Year 2023, Everyone!
We have some exciting news for you coming this year.
First, you’ll note this newsletter is now named ‘Open Canada Vital Statistics (OpenCanada.info)’. It has now new URL address (opencanada.subtack.com) and a new private email (opencanada.info@protonmail.com) for private communications. Check the original Welcome issue for all details related to that.
Second, the new website for the ‘Open Canada Vital Statistics Tracker Web App’ is now created - called OpenCanada.info, similar in its mission to that of our sister portal: usmortality.com, and it has also now it’s own Twitter account! Make sure to follow it…
Third, we will be teaming up with National Citizens’ Inquiry (NCI) to provide data evidence on issues related to reporting COVID- and statistics-related data in Canada.
Finally, a very special New Year message for you from NCI below!
Dear fellow Canadians,
The NCI Hearings are just around the corner and we have so much to start sharing with you and Canadians across the country!
In the next few weeks, the full hearing schedule will be announced and you will know exactly when the NCI hearings are in a city closest to you. As well, we will be able to finally announce the Commissioners that will lead the Hearings.
We will also start revealing the expert witnesses that have agreed to testify, as well as previews of the stories of Canadians harmed by governments’ COVID-19 measures.
If you have witnessed something that can help the Inquiry - please see the CALL FOR WITNESSES below - or go directly to nationalcitizensinquiry.ca/witnesses for more information and to submit your Witness Application Form
Together, we will make 2023 the year of Accountability and Transparency.
Every day, we are learning more and more about COVID-19 and the full impacts on Canadians and our economy from our governments’ policies, restrictions, and mandates.
Although the governments seem determined to avoid investigation and discussion, millions of Canadians understand that it is vital we have an open, transparent, and independent examination of what happened. What have we learned that we could have done better? Where did our institutions perform well, where did they fail us?
The National Citizens’ Inquiry will initiate these important discussions and prime Canadians for more directly demanding that our elected officials seriously examine and respond to the lessons learned.
But for now, from all of us at NCI, we wish you and your family a very Happy New Year, with nothing but health, fortune, and grace!

CALL FOR WITNESSES OPEN!
Canadians & Experts can now apply to testify in 2023
Have you, your business, or someone you know been impacted by COVID-19 policies, including restrictions or mandates? Are you in an expert in a subject area relevant to Canada’s COVID-19 experience?
We want to give Canadians or experts like you a voice.
Today from Calgary, NCI Chair Preston Manning announced the Call for Witnesses to testify at the inquiry Hearings taking place in 2023 across Canada.
Hearings will take place between March and April at the following locations: Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Red Deer, Victoria, and Ottawa.
Any Canadian and/or relevant expert is eligible to apply to testify as either an “expert” or “non-expert” witness.
Expert witnesses can be, for example, doctors, scientists, lawyers, journalists, economists, or police officers.
Non-expert witnesses can be any Canadian who believes they have been impacted by our governments’ COVID-19 policies. Some examples include:
Disruption in the lives/education of children/students
Impaired mental health due to isolation
Business or job loss due to restrictions
Job loss due to vaccination mandates
Delayed or denied healthcare for non-COVID-19 matters
Adverse reaction(s) to COVID-19 vaccines
Reputational and/or professional discipline or censorship for expressing contrarian views
Restrictions of fundamental liberties, such as speech, association, or travel
All witnesses will testify under oath and may be subject to cross-examination.
We cannot learn from the COVID-19 experience if we do not have an open and transparent national conversation about what happened.
If you or someone you know has a story to share, we strongly encourage you to consider applying to testify.
